SADDLE CLUB TOURNAMENT-RAM RODEO JUNE 15
North River Riders Horse Club is looking to
send a team to the Saddle Club Tournament at the Orangeville RAM Rodeo on June 15th.
At this time RAM are asking for YOUTH ONLY, it may be opened up to adults competitors at a later date if numbers are low. Please contact Sarah Winfield asap of you are interested. email@example.com
Saddle club challenge at the Ram Rodeo. A great way to get an introduction to rodeo without having to pay the high cost of competing in a rodeo. The award money will go to the clubs the same as last year, based on the winnings for the events. The clubs can do what they like with these winnings. (subsidize gas monies, donate to club, etc). The SCC will be held 10-1:30am Saturday June 15 at the Orangeville Rodeo. We need to be DONE and out of the pen by 1:30 to allow for the Youth Rodeo to run before the show. They are looking for 5-6 Ontario clubs to send teams of 6-10 participants each (total number of participants will depend on the number of clubs we get as we MUST be done and out of the ring by 1:30).
Events Include: Poles, Barrels, Down & Back, Coke Bottle Race
A few rules this year:
Competitors can't have run Rodeo regularly in the past two years. The whole point of this show is to expose new kids/riders to the rodeo scene.
Competitors must be regular members of the club they can't join just for this experience. Regular rodeo rules apply, so you need to have western tack and clothing. Helmets are mandatory for youth, and encouraged for adults.
***** Please note that the format for OPEN classes will be 1D-3D
North River Riders participated in First Annual Severn Winterfest, Jan.25-27, at ODAS Park. This small enthusiastic and hearty group of members worked to create the 6' x 6' x 7' snow block into Snoopy and his doghouse. Congratulations to those who carved. The challenge is on for next year to get more groups involved.
Our annual AGM was held Sunday, December 2.
Reports were given by the President, Treasurer, Membership, Special Events, Show Convenor, Youth Team and Drill Team Convenors.
Another delicious potluck luncheon was provided by members, followed by Elections, Awards/Recognitions and ongoing Silent Auction.
Thank you to all members and sponsors who contributed items to the Silent Auction and to the Youth Auction. A total of $572.50 was raised and will be used to support ongoing activities of the club.
There are some VACANCIES (Vice President, Show Convenor and Drill Team Convenor) on the Board for 2019. If you are interested in taking on one of these roles , please contact President Barb Clare-Powell
