Next event is Western Games, SATURDAY,OCTOBER 4 at ODAS Park.

Thank you to everyone who has already sent in their entries. To facilitate making the day go smoother, we do not want to have any changes on show day. Please enter by Thursday at 6:00 p.m. as the show is on Saturday!

The show is happening during Orillia Fall Fair weekend so there are some special logistics particular to this last show.

1) Please enter through GATE 3 (your usual entry gate) before 8:30 to ensure that you are not charged with fair entry fee. Those arriving after 8:30 will have to use Gate 4 and WILL be charged fair entry fee.

2) Please watch for parking signs as some areas will be reserved for truck and tractor pull trailers.

3) There will be many food vendors on site so please take advantage of their menus.

4) Exiting the fairgrounds will be from Gate 4 (the north side of the Roller Rink). Please watch for exit signs.

5) Once again, do bring our own water supply for your mounts.

6) This show is sponsored by NRR, not the fairboard.

             PATTERNS FOR 2025 WESTERN GAMES

   WESTERN GAMES   2025  UPDATE

NEW ***OPEN JACKPOT will be 2D with a $200 for each division. There will be a 3 sec split between divisions so that our novice riders can join in the fun and be competitive!
NEW *** YOUTH JACKPOT will be 3D with $100 for each division. There will be a 5 sec split between the divisions so that the divisions will reflect experienced, intermediate and beginner riders.
The goal is for everyone, no matter what their skill level is, to have a division where they are competitive.

NEW*** North River Riders will be expending our social media platforms. Please look for us on Instagram, and TikTok in the near future!

REMINDER*** Our performance shows do not require sparkly clothing, fancy silver saddles or chaps. They are beginner friendly! You are expected to be wearing proper attire for your discipline. We do not allow tank tops or t-shirts.

REMINDER *** If you would like to donate your good used ribbons back to the club, you will have your name entered into a draw for a prize donated by Kiss My Cactass Creations. The club will only be accepting your ribbons until the July show.
REMINDER*** the bigger time splits between the divisions in the open and youth are for all the classes all year. This is intended to clearly separate the experienced riders from the intermediate, and give our leadliners moving up, rookies and green horses a better transition into the youth and open.

  • membership and waiver *** all competitors must have a signed waiver and a membership or day pass before showing. This can be found under files at the top of the page or on the website www.northriverriders.com  AND BELOW
  • Entry form. Same classes as last year with more money, a pointed mystery class, and a jackpot following the show with a $100 payout divided among the top 5
  • images of all classes
  • barrels, poles, flag and dash every show
  • one of the remaining patterns will be the mystery so you can practice them all. Arena race, Stake race, Serpentine Race, Scramble, or Keyhole.
  • Flag pole combo is the first jackpot we will have. There are many ways to get disqualified. If you miss the flag, knock a barrel, knock a pole, or off pattern. You can not back up to get the flag if you miss it or circle the barrel or circle back. We will demonstrate on show day but this should help if you want to start practicing!
